I was 10 years old when my father took my brother and me to the drive-in. I suppose I wasn’t watching much TV that year, because we were going to see the opening night of a movie I had never heard of. We drove to our spot, centered to the screen and attached the portable speaker to our window. This was the 70’s and the technology wasn’t what it is today, so we really didn’t know the sound wasn’t that great. We were just excited to be at the drive-in.
The 20th Century Fox logo appeared with its drum roll that probably hasn’t changed in decades. Then the screen went black with the words:
“A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away…”
BOM! The first sound of John Williams music blasted and every person in every car screamed in delight. My eyes opened widely as the scroll describing the story began to roll. This had never been seen before and combined with the powerful music I think that it is safe to say that audiences across the world were captivated from the first moment.
My brother and I rushed through the door to my other house the next day, exclaiming to our mom and step-dad that we HAD to see this movie again with them that night! They wouldn’t believe it! It was the most AMAZING movie ever! We HAVE to go!!!!
Guess what? We rolled into the very same space with our other parents that very night. My parents along with this audience had the same reaction as the audience the previous night.
Over the years, Star Wars became part of our cultural psyche. Luke, Leia and Han were our action heroes. The sights and the sounds of the movie were extraordinary glimpses of fantasy and adventure. My family owned copies of episodes 4, 5 and 6 and it seemed that my younger brothers had them playing every day. I must have seen them 100 times each; each time getting caught up in the fantasy of the movie.
Fast forward 30 years. I hadn’t seen Star Wars (episode 4) in about 10 years. It was on TV and I thought it would be fun to watch again. This time, after a few minutes of watching the characters I knew so well, something happened. I said aloud, “Oh my God!” I found that every few minutes I was repeating, “OH MY GOD!” Even though I could recite lines from this film, and always knew what was coming next, I genuinely saw it differently this time; as though it were the first time. The entire film was a statement on metaphysics. What was being played out on the screen was a representation of what was occurring on this planet now and I had never noticed it before.
As our planet is moving into a vibrational shift, I was seeing things more clearly. I realized in that moment, that we only see what we want to see and ignore everything else. I wondered how much more throughout my life I missed as I was not ready to see what was really there.
All the years I was growing up, this movie was a fun action adventure film based on pure fiction. Now, I was seeing Obi One and later Yoda as spirit guides and teachers presenting us with the information to become higher, more evolved beings (jedi knights). We are to live in the present moment, honor our emotions, but trust our intuition or Higher Selves and have faith that the Universe is directing us on the right course.
The force represents the universal life force or energy. Quantum physics has proven that everything in the universe is at the core made up of the same stuff: energy. We are all connected. We are all one and we manifest our desires through using this energy through the law of attraction. As we are learning how to control our manifestation of reality in our life, we are manipulating this energy to perform magic, just like a jedi. Simply put, we all have the ability to use ‘jedi magic’. It already exists. It is already here.
I frankly don’t think that we are too far off from having the ability of telekinesis. It is said that approximately 94% of our brains are not being used. It is also said that certain Buddhist Monks and other enlightened beings can float in the air and walk through walls during certain states of meditation. What wonderful abilities might we access as we learn to utilize more of our brain power? Won’t we all be able to move objects with our thoughts when the planet is filled with enlightened beings?
Darth Vader represents those that are choosing to live the old way, those that are still living in the world of fear and not choosing love and honoring our intuitive nature as the way. These are the people that say to be secure…be safe…conform to whatever everyone else is doing. I can honestly say that it is our duty to find our true gifts that make us happy and be the best at whatever that is that we can possibly be; thereby raising the consciousness of not only ourselves, but of the world and universal community, as well.
As my vibrational level has increased, I found that my friends who were mirroring who I was in the past, could not tolerate the brightness of my Being that I was becoming. One by one they left or I left them and new friends that mirror who I am now are showing up.
With regards to my best friend of many years who was my confident and comrade in arms, I began seeing extreme insecurities that I had never noticed before. We only see what we want to see and I didn’t notice them because I was right there with him in the dark. He began having deep resentment towards me. Even though I was homeless and in deep financial crisis I was happy. He, on the other hand, had a lovely home, a relationship, a nice car and he was miserable. I wanted so much for him to share with me the spiritual journey I was taking. Alas, I realized that I could only hand him the key to the door. He would have to actually walk over to the door and open it. Instead he either put the key down for now, to use later when he is ready or he threw it away all together. I do not know. For the time being he is seeing only what he wants to see.
In an earlier article called Smell the Roses, I wrote about the ‘Five Minute Tourist.’ Those that ride up in their car or bus and look at the ocean or the Grand Canyon or whatever majestic site they find themselves at and take a picture with them standing in front of it; staying for another 4 minutes and then leaving just as abruptly as their arrival. They didn’t notice the birds flying overhead, the artistry of the kite flyer, the different shapes of each wave. They didn’t notice God’s work. They see what they want to see and nothing more.
I once knew someone that was being physically and emotionally abused by her husband. Her children were also victims of this abuse. Instead of standing up for herself and her children when the police were called on several occasions to intervene, the woman always defended her husband. She was only allowing herself to see what she wanted to see. She saw a perfect man and a perfect husband, while everyone else was seeing the truth.
A few weeks ago, I sold a washer and dryer to a couple. The woman was a lovely positive soul, while her fiancé was Mr. Pessimism. He said that dryers always break. I told him that if he believed it then it is true for him. He told me he was a realist. The fact is we are ALL realists. What I believe is real for me and the same goes for everyone. As you believe, so it is.
At one point in my life, I was a huge news junkie; local news, CNN, I was informed. About a year ago, I decided that the news was far too depressing and I didn’t want anything to do with these unconstructive influences. Now, when I walk up the driveway with the dog in the morning, I don’t even see the newspaper that I am told is sitting there in plain view. The negative aspect of my life is gone and it doesn’t exist on my reality plane anymore.
When you open your hearts to the wonders of the world your eyes will naturally follow suit. Clarity will be part of your reality. You will no longer see only what you want to see, but all the positive wonders of the world that are reflecting your life.
Thank you for reading and Namaste! (The Light in me recognizes the Light in you!)
